The European Space Agency has launched Expedition Sound, a podcast series that explores the Universe by translating space mission data into sound. Each episode features host Zsófi Szalavári travelling from the Sun into the depths of space, guided by sonifications of scientific data from ESA missions.

Each episode stops at a different destination and includes conversations with ESA scientists, astronomers and sonification experts. The podcast also features vision impaired astronomers and students, demonstrating how sound can make astronomy more accessible than visual data alone.

The series is available on major podcast platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Podbean and Amazon Music. Episodes explore the Sun using Solar Orbiter data, the planet Mercury through BepiColombo observations, stellar evolution via Gaia mission starquakes, and the large-scale structure of the Universe through Euclid mission observations of gravitational lensing.
