Linda Cardellini won her first Emmy Award on Sunday for her performance in DTF St. Louis, describing the honor as a "real dream come true." The actress, who has worked in television and film for over 30 years, was overcome with emotion as she accepted the award for best supporting actress in a limited or anthology series or movie.
Cardellini thanked her family, friends, co-stars, creator Steve Conrad, producers and her team during her acceptance remarks. "I'm sorry, it's a little embarrassing, but this has just been an unbelievable journey," she said through tears, before acknowledging the Television Academy and those who supported her career over the years.
David Harbour also claimed his first Emmy on Sunday, winning best actor in a limited or anthology series or movie for his work in DTF St. Louis. The limited series accumulated 13 Emmy nominations overall and won six awards by the time of publication, including honors for writing and directing, picture editing, cinematography and supporting actor.
The Creative Arts Emmys took place over two nights at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles without a live television broadcast. The Television Academy moved supporting actor and actress categories for limited series and movies to the Creative Arts ceremonies this year, stating in July that the decision was made due to the "limited time available within a three-hour broadcast" on the main telecast.
