Eight costumes worn by Freddie Mercury across his career will go on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London this autumn, coinciding with what would have been the Queen frontman's 80th birthday. The garments, spanning from the 1970s to Mercury's final years, include the outfit featured on Queen's debut album cover and the catsuit worn in the "Bohemian Rhapsody" music video.

The exhibition, titled Freddie Mercury | Splendid Things, is a free trail developed with Mercury's former fiancee and close friend Mary Austin. Austin is lending seven of the eight pieces on display. The show runs from 24 October 2026 to 17 January 2027.
