FX has set an October 14 premiere for the second season of "The Lowdown." The drama will air at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on FX and Hulu, with international broadcasts on Disney+, followed by weekly episode releases.
Ethan Hawke returns as Tulsa "truthstorian" Lee Raybon. Returning cast members include Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kaniehtiio Horn, Rafael Casal, and Keith David. Betty Gilpin and Tommy Lee Jones join the cast for Season 2.
The series follows Lee, who works in a rare books store in Tulsa and investigates corruption in his community. In Season 2, Lee's journalism earns him a citizen journalist award, but his unfiltered acceptance speech catches the attention of public defender Ginger, played by Gilpin. The pair team up on a case involving a missing inmate from the state penitentiary, drawing Lee into an investigation that interferes with his relationship with his teenage daughter Francis. Lee's estranged father, Lee Raybon Senior, arrives in town unexpectedly, complicating matters further.
"The Lowdown" was created by Sterlin Harjo and is produced by FX Productions. Harjo, Garrett Basch, Ethan Hawke, Ryan Hawke, Duffy Boudreau, and Scott Teems serve as executive producers.
