Kristian Mattson, who records as the Tallest Man on Earth, will release a new album titled Just Beyond Endless Mountain on October 9 via Anti-. The record was inspired by the traditional folk music of Dalarna, the Swedish region where Mattson grew up.

In press materials, Mattson said he had previously rejected the cultural inheritance of his upbringing but changed his perspective after returning to live in the region. "I've read an incredible amount—not just about the music, but about how people actually lived in the old days," he said. "I think that's part of why this record feels more like me than anything I've made before."

The announcement comes after Mattson released "Colors," his first new song since 2023, in May. The new album marks his follow-up to Henry St., released in 2023. A video for the new single "Deliver Me From Trying," filmed in the Swedish countryside, accompanies the announcement.

Mattson will tour North America in the fall in support of the album.
