A 94-year-old woman sought to purchase a vacuum cleaner advertised by a national electronics retailer. Finding the model sold out at her local store, she was told it remained available at another location roughly an hour away by car.
When the elderly customer asked if the item could be transferred to the nearby store, the sales assistant declined. Given her age, the woman said she was unable to make the lengthy drive herself.
Another shopper in the queue offered to make the trip, drive the vacuum to the customer's home, and deliver it. The arrangement proceeded successfully, with the stranger completing the errand as promised.
