St Helens kept their playoff hopes alive by defeating 10-man Castleford 36-12 at the Brewdog Stadium. The Saints scored six tries in the first half, with Jack Welsby, Shane Wright, Jacob Douglas, Tom Humphreys, Tristan Sailor and Nene McDonald each touching down.

St Helens opened the scoring in the opening stages and built a 30-0 lead before halftime. Castleford's hopes of a comeback were hampered when hooker Scott Hastings was sent off for violent conduct following an altercation with Tyler Dupree in the first half.

Saints interim head coach Eamon O'Carroll told BBC Radio Merseyside that he was pleased with his team's response after St Helens also went down to 10 men. "I said I wanted to see the attitude of the players, and what better way to display that than when you go down to 10 men for 45 minutes?" O'Carroll said. "The players were fantastic."

Hull staged a second-half fightback to beat Catalans Dragons 27-26 at the Gilbert Brutus Stadium, with half-back Jake Arthur landing a drop goal with six minutes remaining. Hull trailed 26-14 early in the second half before Harvie Hill and Aidan Sezer scored converted tries to level the match before Arthur's winning kick.

Hull KR lost 32-12 to Toulouse at Craven Park, their second home defeat of the week after falling to Warrington on Tuesday. Head coach Willie Peters dropped Tevita Pangai Junior and Mikey Lewis following their upcoming bans from the Warrington defeat.
