Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected a 15-point document concerning Gaza, bringing the war issue to a new point of tension. Netanyahu asserted that the Israeli military will not withdraw troops before Hamas is completely disarmed.
Netanyahu's stance differs from Hamas's position, which asserts it will continue to uphold the roadmap and the results of negotiations with mediators. The difference in approach opens the possibility of a new crisis that could threaten the continuation of the ceasefire and the second phase of the agreement.
According to an Al Jazeera report on Monday (10 August 2026), Hamas asserted it remains committed to the results achieved with mediators and the Peace Council regarding the roadmap for the second phase. Hamas stated its seriousness in implementing the 15-point agreement, including drawing up a schedule for its implementation, with the primary priority of ensuring the ceasefire is implemented comprehensively in accordance with all stages and obligations.
Writer and political analyst Iyad Al-Qara assessed Netanyahu's stance as a reversal of the negotiation process that had been underway for approximately three months.
