Jules Koundé has no intention of leaving Barcelona, despite attention from Bayern Munich, Arsenal, PSG, Tottenham and other European clubs. While there are no formal offers on the table, the French international has remained unmoved by approaches from any suitor. The 27-year-old defender renewed his contract with Barcelona a year ago through 2030 and his desire to remain with the club remains firm.
Barcelona's leadership is not concerned about Koundé's departure, having received confirmation from his agent that the player wishes to stay. The club's coaches, executives and directors are all aware of his determination to continue as a Barcelona player. While reports from England suggested Tottenham might be willing to pay 65 million euros for him, no concrete bids have materialized to date.
According to Barcelona's sporting directors, Koundé has made his position clear whenever the possibility of leaving has been raised. Unless an extraordinary offer arrives, the club does not expect the former Sevilla player to depart. Although the directors acknowledge that circumstances could change in coming days, they describe Koundé's stance as seemingly definitive.
Beyond his current importance to coach Hansi Flick's squad, Koundé is approaching a historic milestone with Barcelona. He has made 188 appearances for the club since joining in 2022 and is just five matches away from equaling the record set by French defender Éric Abidal for most appearances by a Frenchman in a Barcelona shirt. Koundé has already surpassed other French players including Ousmane Dembélé, Clément Lenglet and Samuel Umtiti in total appearances for the club.
