Indonesia midfielder Marc Klok said the team will learn from their failure at the 2026 AFF Cup after being eliminated in the group stage, finishing in third place. The national team failed to advance to the semifinals after drawing 1-1 against Singapore.
Klok said in a social media post on Monday that the team would draw lessons from the experience and return to work with greater spirit. "We learn from this experience. We accept the pain," he said, adding that the team would ignore outside criticism and keep their heads held high.
Indonesia failed to advance to the AFF Cup semifinals for the second consecutive time. The national team's best achievement in this tournament is being runners-up six times, with the most recent in 2020 under coach Shin Tae-yong.
Klok thanked the team's supporters and stressed that the journey of the Indonesian national team would continue. "We are not finished. We're not even close to being finished," he said. Indonesia will play in international matches at the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup in September to October, hosting the event in Bandung and Jakarta.
