Jamila Woods is celebrating the 10th anniversary of her debut album Heavn with a North American tour. The tour begins in Los Angeles on November 16 and includes stops in San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, and New York City before concluding with a hometown show in Chicago on December 6.
Woods marked the milestone on Instagram, calling the album "my first child" and reflecting on the creative journey that followed the breakup of her band M&O in 2015. She noted that she had questioned how she would learn to make music independently, but said the experience as a solo artist allowed her to connect with more people and deepen her relationship with her city.
The critically acclaimed Heavn explored themes of police violence, Black femmehood, and self-love over soothing R&B production.
