Eko Yuli Irawan has been confirmed in Indonesia's weightlifting squad for the 2026 Asian Games. The 37-year-old athlete from Lampung will compete in the men's 65-kilogram category.

Eko Yuli's appearance at the 2026 Asian Games will be his sixth participation in the event. The two-time Olympic silver medallist from 2016 and 2020 first competed at the Asian Games in 2006, when he was 17 years old in the 56-kilogram category, finishing in sixth place.

Throughout his Asian Games career, Eko Yuli has won bronze medals from the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou and the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, as well as a gold medal from the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta. At his most recent appearance in 2022, he failed to win a medal after missing on all three clean and jerk attempts.

The 2026 Asian Games will be held in Aichi-Nagoya from 19 September to 4 October. If Eko Yuli competes, his achievement would extend the record for appearances across five previous editions held by an Indonesian weightlifter.
