The album features vocals from Bridgers paired with an array of guest artists including Julien Baker, Lucy Dacus, Caroline Shaw, Bo Burnham, and others across various tracks. Musicians credited include string arranger Rob Moose, drummer Jim Keltner, mandolin player Chris Thile, and pedal steel guitarist Greg Leiszh, among numerous instrumentalists.

Jack Antonoff and Ethan Gruska appear prominently across the project as multi-instrumentalists, handling everything from electric guitar and keyboards to drum programming and sound design. Christian Lee Hutson, Marshall Vore, and Bo Burnham are credited as lyricists on multiple songs.
