Chelsea began the 2026/2027 season with confidence after lifting the Indonesia Super Cup trophy by defeating AC Milan 3-0 at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK) in Jakarta on Saturday (8/8). Joao Pedro scored twice, while Moises Caicedo added another goal in the emphatic victory.
The London club will begin the English league in an away fixture against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Tuesday (25/8) in the early hours of Indonesia time. Before that match, Chelsea will still have two friendlies against Johor Darul Ta'zim and Real Sociedad.
Manager Enzo Alonso stated the team would continue to develop as more player options became available. "The more players we have, the more options we have," Alonso said on Saturday. Alonso was confident Chelsea would be ready to start the Premier League well, though he said the team still needed time to reach perfection.
"For the start of the English league we will be ready, but that will only be the starting point of the evolution of the entire team," Alonso said. According to him, the team's development would be a process that would take months.
