Celtic have been eliminated from the Champions League after squandering a four-goal aggregate advantage in Austria. Callum McGregor's 21st-minute deflected goal had given the Scottish champions a 4-0 aggregate lead, appearing to have secured their passage to the league stage.

Lask mounted a dramatic comeback in Linz, defeating Celtic 5-1 to overturn the deficit and advance instead. The result represents a significant financial setback for Celtic, with the missed Champions League qualification costing the club more than £20 million.

Celtic have now failed to qualify for the Champions League for the second consecutive year.
