A road link spanning tens of kilometers between districts has officially opened after roughly three years of construction, according to the provincial government.
The route cuts travel time for vehicles carrying farm produce from highland areas to the nearest port, a journey that previously required a detour through mountain roads.
Local farming groups said the time savings could reduce transport costs and limit spoilage of fresh commodities in transit.
The provincial government said the next phase focuses on street lighting and shoulder repairs at landslide-prone points.
